Issa Hayatou has stepped down as president of CAF after 28 years in charge
Cameroonian football chief, Issa Hayatou has opted out of CAF election duties ahead of the FIFA Presidential elections.
“The
president, in agreement with the executive committee, just wants to
exclusively wear his FIFA hat in handling the election for which the
final phase will start on January 26 with the final list of candidates,” a CAF spokesman Junior Binyam is quoted to say by AFP.
Hayatou will only continue as the acting President of FIFA following the suspension of Sepp Blatter in October.
