Woman on death row avoids execution – A woman on the death row in a prison in Quang Ninh, Vietnam, has managed to avoid execution by getting herself pregnant.

42-year-old Nguyen Thi Hue was to be executed for drug related offences, but is now off the hook after managing to artificially inseminate herself.

According to Mirror UK, Hue bought 2 syringes of sperm from a fellow inmate, 27-year-old inmate Nguyen Tuan Hung for 50 million Vietnamese Dong (N440,000).

According to Vietnamese law, a pregnant woman or a mother whose child is less than 3 years old cannot be executed, but will have their death sentences changed to life imprisonment.
It wouldn’t be the first time this loophole in the law has been used, with a female prisoner sleeping with a male inmate back in 2007 in order to avoid the noose.
